Quality control in construction is a major focus of Toll Brothers, the nation's leading builder of luxury homes. To ensure that the company is meeting the expectations of today's home buyers in providing a quality product, Toll Brothers offers its home buyers a unique and comprehensive two-step pre-settlement orientation program.
The first detailed orientation takes place five to seven days before settlement. The buyer walks through the home with the construction manager, using Toll Brothers' nine page, 360-item checklist as a guide. The following week, fine-tuning and touch up work is done where necessary and the buyer is invited back for a second review. All items checked on the nine-page list are reviewed to determine that they were taken care of to the satisfaction of both the buyer and the builder.
Toll Brothers' commitment however, does not end at settlement. Home buyers are provided with a warranty request form at settlement to ensure that any future warranty work is noted and corrected. Toll Brothers also surveys buyers after they move into their new home, using the information generated from the surveys for future design modification of the company's home designs and options.
