Robert I. Toll Executive Chairman of the Board
Robert I. Toll is Executive Chairman of Toll Brothers, Inc. Bob Toll, with his brother Bruce E. Toll, founded Toll Brothers in 1967. Bob served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board from 1967 until June 2010 when he assumed the position of Executive Chairman of the Board.
Bob Toll was named CEO of the Year by Builder Magazine in 2005. In 2007, 2008, and 2009 Institutional Investor magazine named him the Best CEO in the Homebuilders & Building Products industry.
Bob is devoted to numerous nonprofits, including Seeds of Peace, an organization that brings together youth and educators from areas of conflict in the world to its camp in Maine. Bob has been a long-time fundraiser for the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cornell Real Estate Council, Seeds of Peace, and Beth Sholom Synagogue. Bob was a member of the Democratic National Finance Committee, and served on the Business Board of the Department of Defense; he is currently a member emeritus of the Board of Overseers at University of Pennsylvania Law School. Previously he was a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, where he established the Albert & Sylvia Toll Scholarship Foundation. Bob is also on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Opera.
Bob received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cornell University and his LLB degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He was named Cornell University Entrepreneur of the year in 2005.
